Team Fortress 2

Description

Developed by the Valve Corporation, Team Fortress 2 is a first person shooter that revolves around team based multiplayer combat, with teams being composed of players who can choose from 9 different classes each with different weapons, strengths, weaknesses and roles. The 9 classes are: Scout, Sniper, Pyro, Soldier, Demoman, Heavy, Engineer, Medic and Spy.

The game is played on various maps, which can be one of (currently) four game modes. These are capture point maps (cp), capture the flag maps (ctf), territory control maps (tc) and payload maps (pl). The capture point maps can be further broken down into either linear (e.g. cp_well, cp_granary), or attack/defend maps (e.g. cp_dustbowl, cp_gravelpit).

The game is fast paced and light-hearted, unlike more serious and tension filled games like Counter-Strike, and is heavily reliant on good communication and teamwork, as well as a good knowledge of the maps and classes so that it is possible to effectively counter the opposition's tactics.

cp_badlands, cp_dustbowl, cp_granary, cp_gravelpit, cp_well, ctf_2fort, ctf_well, pl_goldrush & tc_hydro.

Rules

All general rules apply to TF2, below are game specific rules.

1.) Class Limits: 6v6 matches use the CL2/ML1 class limits, meaning a maximum of 1 Medic, and 2 of every other class. 8v8 matches use CL3/ML2/E2/H2; so a maximum of 2 Medics, 2 Engineers, 2 Heavies and 3 of every other class.

2.) Maps: All matches must be played on the maps listed on this page (only these are available to select when arranging a match).

3.) VAC: Valve Anti-Cheat must be enabled on all match servers.

4.) Unlockables: Unlockable weapons are NOT allowed in matches since they potentially give one clan an unfair advantage.

5.) Configs: Match config files are available below, and these must be used in matches.

6.) Attack/Defend Maps: Matches on attack and defend maps (cp_dustbowl, pl_goldrush and cp_gravelpit) do not have a map time limit, but rather each clan has an equal number of attacks and defenses. Dustbowl and Gold Rush require 1 attack and defense per team, and Gravelpit requires 2 attacks and defenses per team. In both cases a match will not last longer than 60 minutes.

AvD matches are played in stopwatch mode, and the score is as displayed by the scoreboard +1 point per round won. If clans can't agree on who attacks first, a melee round should be played to decide. If both clans wish to play more rounds then mp_maxrounds can be changed manually; so long as both clans play an equal number of attacks/defenses (so mp_maxrounds must be an even number).

7.) Other Maps: All other maps are played with a timelimit of 30, 45 or 60 minutes with respective win limits of 6, 8 and 10.

8.) Crits: By default crits are not allowed, however if both clans agree they can be enabled.

9.) Setup on cp_well It’s forbidden to jump over the trains on cp_well to opponent’s side during the setup time, however jumping onto the trains and/or lobbing grenades over is allowed.

10.) Leaving Early: If a clan leaves a match before it is finished then they can claim all the points for any rounds that remain (on attack/defend maps) or 1 point per 10 minutes remaining on all other map types.
